Very excited to work on a my new play "The Christmas Coven" with this year's MADlab cohort!

“2024 marks the 11th cohort of MADlab playwrights joining together to write, grow, and create with us for the next nine months. Selected from hundreds of submissions, these five playwrights’ ideas sparked true intrigue for us. At the MADlab, we start with the idea, the spark of the play. We nurture them, support them and bring them into the world. Through this unique program, these playwrights will work with dozens of artists on their play as they write, re-write and finally present a first look to you this fall.”

All it takes is ONE ACT
Three New Plays.
Three New Perspectives on Reproductive Justice

A is For believes the theatre is an especially powerful platform with which to share stories, debunk myths, and disempower fears.  Theatre can transform. The subject of Reproductive Justice is one too often simplified by our current dialogues, and the voices and perspectives of the people most affected by restrictions, legislative prohibitions, and cultural prejudices are excluded from our artistic institutions.
A is For seeks to change that.

Join us on Saturday, December 12 - Sunday, December 13 for the live-streamed performances of the 2020 A is For Playwriting Contest winning plays.

Produced by A is For:
Board Chair Martha Plimpton, Exec Dir. Kellie Overbey
Plays by Kate Mickere, Sado Kpade, and Cris Eli Blak
Directed by Claire Karpen
Stage Managed by Katherine Nelson

All proceeds will benefit A is For.

Tickets can be purchased here.

My ten minute play, THE INCIDENT, appeared in the fifth installment of Meet Cute LA, March 9 and 10th at The Three of Clubs in Hollywood.

I was paired with director Sophie Goldstein who enthusiastically brought the show to life. Actors Kristi Schultz and Daphne Gabriel starred as Charlotte and Eleanor, two Victorian spinsters who have just had a very supernatural experience.

10/1/19 - Sloan Launch Party at Carnegie Mellon University

I just got back from my beloved Pittsburgh, where I spoke with the current Dramatic Writing MFA students about my experience writing a science-based screenplay. That script, "Capturing the Stars," won the Alfred P. Sloan Student Screenwriting Award in 2012 and received an Honorable Mention for the Sloan/Tribeca Grand Jury Prize in 2013. I was joined by Michael Wood-Vasey, a professor of Physics & Astronomy at The University of Pittsburgh, who served as my brilliant advisor during that writing process.
